Веронике всего пять лет от роду, но девочке уже пришлось пережить серьезнейшее испытание. Год назад из детского дома она перешла в приемную семью.
Я познакомилась с малышкой в детском саду. Вероника оказалась приветливым, открытым человечком. Практически на пятой минуте нашего общения она с интересом рассматривала мои бусы, демонстрировала, кружась, белое с розами платьице и весело рассказывала, какой замечательный — красный в черный горох наряд — купила ей мама Таня. Вот бы побыстрее исполнилось шесть лет, когда обновка станет ей впору.
— Вероника, похоже, ты бойкая девочка? Вижу на коленках царапины. А выше — такой страшный шрам!
— А-а-а… это когда я жила у мамы Оли, она пролила на меня горячий чай, — нервно кривя рот, не дала договорить Вероника.
— Удивительно. У тебя две мамы?
— Да,- с готовностью ответила моя маленькая собеседница. — Но я к маме Оле я ни-и-и-когда не вернусь, потому что с ней жить не хочу. Она с плохими дяденьками вино пила, она не водила меня на батут, и в гости мы тоже никуда не ездили.
— А с мамой Таней, выходит, ездили? Как интересно! Расскажи!
— Я люблю ходить к Софье! — воскликнула Вероника. — Она моя подружка и мамина взрослая дочка. С Софьей так интересно играть! Еще она водит машину, и я так же хочу, когда вырасту. Но больше всего я рада, что мы ездили с мамой к бабушке Вале в Сызрань. Это город на берегу Волги. Мама сказала, что Волга — самая большая река. Мы купались, загорали. Еще хочется туда поехать, потому что в Сызрани я познакомилась с мальчиком, и мы стали друзьями.
Потом Вероника рассказала, что любит слушать, как мама читает для нее сказки, что научилась фотографировать и, что самая вкуснятина для нее – это жареная картошка с «хрустяшками», тортики и конфеты. Только раз помрачнела девочка. Когда я спросила, была ли она у мамы Тани на работе (Татьяна Николаевна работает в правоохранительных органах).
— Там неинтересно, — заявил ребенок. – Мама на компьютере печатает и строгая.
— Может быть, она — следователь?
— Нет! — с ужасом воскликнула Вероника.
Очевидно, сотрудники полиции в прежней семье девочки были частыми гостями, коль в свои пять лет она с такой неприязнью воспринимает слово, которое для обычного малыша – пустой звук.
Лезть в душу к Татьяне Николаевне мне не хотелось, но один вопрос мы все-таки обсудили.
— Что Вас подвигло к столь серьезному решению — взять в семью ребенка?
— Могу лишь сказать, что это было не одно какое-то обстоятельство. Вот говорят, браки совершаются на небесах. Желание взять на воспитание ребенка, по-моему, тоже приходит откуда-то сверху. Когда дочь выросла, а силы еще остались, тогда я и задумалась об этом варианте. Радужных надежд не строю. Потому что с рождения девочка жила в условиях, в которых невозможно было развиваться нормально. Проблемы уже видны. Но я готова сделать все, чтобы Вероника выросла нормальным человеком.
С Татьяной Николаевной я знакома больше десяти лет и всегда считала ее прагматичной и, пожалуй, даже жесткой женщиной. Но теперь она открылась с совершенно иной стороны. Когда Татьяна Николаевна рассказывала подробности прежней жизни Вероники, и мимоходом заметила: «Моя мама трагически погибла, когда мне было 35 лет, но знаете, как было тяжело…», — глаза женщины предательски заблестели. Оказывается, у этого человека добрая душа и сердце, способное согреть чужого ребенка.
Бог весть, как сложится дальнейшая жизнь маленькой Вероники. Но мне хочется привести ее слова. Пусть они прозвучат как напоминание, тем мамашам, которые родили ребятишек, но не озаботились их воспитанием и живут в свое удовольствие: пьют «горькую», на глазах у детей развлекаются с мужчинами, и совершенно не волнуются о том, сыт и согрет ли ребенок. Убеждая меня, что с мамой Таней ей живется лучше, чем у мамы Оли, девочка сказала следующее: «У мамы Тани такое одеяло здоровское, когда под него заберусь и прижмусь к маме, так становится тепло и уютно». С родной матерью Веронике было плохо.
